Bookish garb – can you guess the book references?

by - August 2nd, 2012

A British clothing site, Meanfellas, was created last year by Alex Olliver, who thought designing, printing and selling tees featuring pop culture references would be a fun departure from his music-oriented gig. His series of shirts include nods to British television characters, soccer teams, and yes, English literature.
“The only rule I set was that we wanted to avoid the clichéd, crass and offensive t-shirts that seem to be everywhere these days,” Olliver says.
The bookish garb includes an Ambercrombie & Fitch-looking tee representing the Everett Steering Academy wrestling team and a logo for Santiago & Manolin Fishing that wouldn’t look out of place in a sporting goods store.
Check out these 28 book-inspired designs and see if you can guess the literary references. The answers are in the caption of the following image. Then tell us in the comments how many you got right!
